Jun. 18, 1964

First Eucharist of the new mission celebrated in the Garigan Building at intersection of Broadway and Old Spanish Trail.

Sept. 6, 1964

First Eucharist celebrated at Booth Elementary School auditorium.

Apr. 1, 1965

Completed purchase of 7.03 acres on northwest corner of Gollub Road and Old Spanish Trail from The Lusk Corp. for $25,000.

Oct. 13, 1965

St. Matthew's admitted by Diocesan Convention upon recommendation of Bishop Harte to Parish status.

Dec. 20, 1965

Cain, Nelson Wares engaged to draw a master plan and a first multi

Jan. 23, 1966

First Annual Meeting of the Parish of the Episcopal Church of St. Matthew.

Feb. 20, 1966

The Rev. Stewart F. Barr III instituted by Bishop Harte as first and founding Rector of St. Matthew's.

Jul. 19, 1967

Ground breaking for first construction unit, now named the Barr Building.

Sep. 21, 1967

First celebration of La Fiesta de San Mateo in new, unfinished building.

Oct. 25, 1967

First wedding performed in new (nearly completed) nave.

Oct. 29, 1967

8:00 and 10:00; First celebrations of the Eucharist in the new sanctuary.

Nov. 5, 1961

Dedication and blessing of the new Church and its appointments.

Sep. 1, 1967

The Rev. Arthur E. Lewis becomes Associate Rector

Nov. 15, 1971

Fr. Lewis resigns to become a Canon of Trinity Cathedral.

Mar. 15, 1972

Fr. William Johnson becomes part-time Associate

Sep. 7, 1972

Construction begun on Education Building, now named the Frensdorf Building.

Dec. 28, 1972

Frensdorf Building completed.

Jul. 1, 1975

St Raphael's, Benson informally made parochial mission of St. Matthew's. Served by Fr. Barr as Vicar and Fr. Johnson together with available diocesan priests on a rotating basis.

Apr. 1, 1976

The Rev. E. Elbridge Morrill added as part-time assistant pastor. The three St. Matthew's priests began serving St. Raphaels's on a rotating basis.

Jul. 1, 1978

Informal relationship with St, Raphael's deemed not to be in best interests of either congregation, Fr. Johnson resigned from St, Matthew's staff to become Vicar of St. Raphael's.

Oct. 1, 1979

Fr. Morrill resigns to become assistant at St. Paul's, which is much closer to home.

Feb. 14, 1981

The Rev. Roy Kephart begins serving St. Matthew's on an occasional basis.

Jan. 1, 1982

Fr. Roy Kephart becomes regular part-time Associate Rector.

Sep. 1, 1984

Fr. Kephart moved by Bishop Heistand to become Vicar of the Chapel of The Resurrection.

Sep. 15, 1984

The Rev. Glenn Jenks becomes part-time Associate Rector.

Jan. 31, 1985

Fr. Stewart Barr retires as Rector. Vestry formally makes him Rector Emeritus.

Feb. 1, 1985

Bishop Heistand appoints Fr. Glenn Jenks as interim Rector of St. Matthew's.

Sep. 1, 1985

The Rev. John Abraham arrives to become Rector.

Apr. 30, 1990

Fr. Abraham resigns as Rector.

Jun. 1 1990

The Rev. Kenneth Williams is appointed Interim Rector.

Apr. 1, 1991

The Rev. Margaret Babcock arrives to become Rector.

Dec. 31, 2000 The Rev. Margaret Babcock leaves to take the position of Canon for Congregational Development in the Diocese of Idaho.
March 2001 The Rev. Bill Tallevast becomes the regular supply priest. No interim was appointed. He moved to Wisconsin in August 2001.
Sep. 1, 2001 The Rev. Allen Breckenridge starts as Rector.
Nov 4, 2001 The Rt. Rev. Robert Shahan presides over the Celebration of a New Ministry to formally install Fr. Allen as Rector.
