Vacation Bible School was held at St. Matthew’s from July 7-11, 2008. The theme was “Cosmic City—Explore the Awesome power of God.”
The classes included a science lab, drama, games, crafts, and singing and dancing to some fantastic praise songs. A total of 20 young persons attended, most of whom had perfect attendance. Fabulous help was provided by our teen-age Tour Guides, who participated in all the classes and helped all of the teachers. Each day a different story from the Bible was featured, and the theme was carried out in all of the classes, including snacks, which starred “manna and quail” as well as “space food”. We learned about the Creation, that God provides for our needs, that we can be healed from sin as well as diseases, that we can do wondrous things if we have trust, and that we can pass on the news of the resurrection in order to help others. We hope that next year’s VBS will be just as exciting.
