Who We Are

Home
Ann Benton, Parishoner

We at St. Matthew's are a very accepting people and a very
loving people. We try to help each other and are there when you need us. We had only been here about three months and I landed in the hospital (don't remember why) but when I wokeup there was Bob Henley and I appreciated that more then anything. I have really enjoyed the social life at St. Matthew's with the many friends we have made.

Carol Walker, Vestry Member

We are a very caring, loving, friendly parish who strives to work
together for the will of God.

Donna Schoening, Parishoner

We, at St. Matthew's, are an open community, welcoming people wherever they are in their "Faith Journey". With the gifts from God, we are able to support one another in the struggles of life, and to care for each other in love, compassion, and justice.

Anibal Sanchez, Parishoner

We at Saint Matthew's are a congregation involved in God~Rs work not only in our church, but in our community. We are a friendly group of people, who make others feel welcome and appreciated, In spite of our ages, since many of us are senior persons, both men and women; we embark in any project with a cheerful heart and get the job accomplished. Some of the most outstanding characteristics at St. Matthews is the warmth and friendliness of its members.

Bob DeLaney, Senior Warden

We at Saint Matthew's are a warm community dedicated to growing in faith and ministry to each other and to the greater world. We
respect our differences and celebrate our common commitment to living Christian lives of service. We are all stewards of God~Rs creation and part of his evolving will on earth.

Joan Longhurst, Parishoner

Joining St. Matthew's congregational family has enlightened my
life, and I realized I had something to offer them in return.
Volunteerism provided me with a purpose and an opportunity to offer my services for a good cause and for our community. The safe
environment and the friendly atmosphere renders an excellent
opportunity to realize your self-worth and potential.

Dick Blackstone, Parishoner

We are the family which trusts me to worship and empowers
me to worship. Our church, St. Matthew's, is the home in which and
from which I worship. When I worship God and His only Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I do so not only for myself but also as a member and representative of our church and our congregation. To do so and to be so makes my joy complete.

The Rev. William (Bill) Martin, Deacon

We at Saint Matthew's are always in the presence of the sacred, but
that the sacred nature of life is only apparent to those who are open
to it. Each day we seek a forgiving heart, for without the
cultivation of an attitude of forgiveness we will never be at peace.
We live in forgiveness only to the extent that we can truly become
forgiving persons ourselves. Finally, everything we think, everything
we do, everything we feel, is cast in time forever. Every moment that
we live is irreplaceable, therefore each moment is hallowed.

The Rev. Rick Wilson, Rector

We at Saint Matthew's are a people who are committed to the love of God and to one another as a Christian community. We are diverse in age, in theological and political outlooks, and in lifestyle
situations. As our baptismal promises remind us, we strive for
justice and peace for all people and respect the dignity of every
human being.
